Band Camp is OVER!!! Plus, random thoughts.

I have very mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it was so fun! There are so many awesome people in my section! I love them so much! (Especially Jamie- the RM I stand next to during like all of pregame. He went to Argentina on his mission. And he's single. And he added me on Facebook. To quote the famous Trace Adkins: "Oowee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma!" That's what I feel like. In other words, it's love. BAHAHA.) And all of them are really nice and awesome. Also, I'm pretty sure I've lost like 50 pounds this week, which is just groovy.
But on the other hand, I was so tired yesterday! And my tan lines are SOOOO bad. I'll have to take a picture today before they go away. Also, my arms are getting realllllllly strong from holding up my trumpet for  forever. You might think this is a good thing, but my arms are pretty much man arms now. With tan lines on them. So this is not a good thing.
So yeah. Mixed emotions about it being over. but we still have 3 practices a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) for like 2 hours each or something. And that makes me happy. :)

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Our first football game is on Thursday. That's right. This Thursday. AND WE'RE GOING TO BE ON TV! ESPN, baby. We will be the first nationally televised game of the entire football season! I'm going to be on TV! It's especially awesome because I'm at the front for like almost all of everything. How spectacular.

ALSO IMPORTANT: If we win 6 games this season, we're all going to San Diego for the Poinsetta Bowl on Ryan's birthday! (12/20, for those of you who can't remember.) I'm sad that it's on Ryan's bday, but SO happy that I will be able to be home for Christmas. And to go to San Diego!

Random things that I want you all to know, in no particular order:
My section leader is Clifton Hargus; we call him Clif. He was in the Marines for 15 years and he's 37 with 3 kids. And he kind of scares me. He's been playing for longer than I've been alive, so he's SUUUUPER good. He can play for SOOO long and SOOO high and SOOOOO stinkin loud! If I were him, I think I would die from over-awesomeness. This is his first year as section leader, and I think he's pretty good about knowing what he's doing, but he's not very personal/cuddly/a get-to-know-you-on-a-personal-level kind of guy. I think he's been trying though. I think he thinks that I'm more fragile than everybody else or something... because when I'm a quarter step out of the line, he just tells me. With everyone else, he's like, "LOOK AT THIS LINE! YOU ARE A MILE AWAY FROM THE FORM, GO CHOKE YOURSELF!" He says go choke yourself a lot. Which is dogey of him. But yeah. With me, he's just like, Brianna, go forward just a skosh. And when I get it right, he tells me good job. I guess I'm just the favorite.

There's a guy in the baritone section that talks just like Kevin from The Office. His  name is Brian though.

Some people in life are just extremely funny to me. Even when they're not saying anything funny. And there's TWO of them in the trumpet section. Aaron Vaughn and Devon something. When they're just having a normal conversation with me, I always just start laughing reeeeally hard and I can't stop. It's so embarrassing. Especially with Aaron. Because Devin almost always starts laughing just as hard as me, and so we just laugh at nothing together. But Aaron is just kind of like... not laughing. And it's awkward and embarrassing and makes me feel like a terrible person.

The dress I'm wearing right now is a maternity dress. But you can't even tell, so it's okay.

We got our uniforms yesterday! I'm pretty sure my pants are too big, but I'd much rather have too big than too small. So I guess it's okay.

There's only like 5 girls in the entire trumpet section (32 trumpets). It's really weird. I'm used to it being like half and half. But all of us are real good friends now. Their names are: Jessica, Alynne, Julie, Melissa... and I think that's it. It's so weird.

Church doesn't start until 12:20, and it's right next to my house!!!!!!!!! I am SO happy about that.

Whenever I run for more than 30 second straight up here, my lungs dry out and I start coughing a lot. Sigh. It's kind of really annoying. But at least I don't have nosebleeds everyday anymore. But I'm thirsty ALL the time.

Emma is my roommate. She's a molecular biology major, for the moment. She says she's probably going to take chemistry and hate it and change it though. :) She had a legitimately crazy chem teacher in high school. She's super good at talking and telling stories and she has the most beautiful skin tone in the universe. It looks like Ms. Neufeldt's skin (my AP Gov and Econ teacher) and makes me really jealous. I really like her though. She's great friend material.

Delaney:

She's a dancer. She's trying out for the folk dance team on Wednesday. She likes to talk a lot. And she collects shiny things she finds on the ground. Her favorite color is yellow, and she's super funny. But she never gets tired, so me and Emma always have to kick her out of our room so we can sleep. :) I really like her too though.

Emma and I:
ps- i don't actually weigh 100000000 lbs, as this picture would suggest. it's just kind of unflattering.

This is a picture of all of us before we left for church today. We's cutie pies.

AND... my neck tan line. Thank you band camp.

It's time for choir practice. And then a band fireside. And then ward prayer. So I've got to go. Love you all!!!!!

My apartment!!!

Hello everyone! I've made it to Provo safely, and managed to move all of my stuff in! (Except for my dishes... I just realized about an hour ago that they're all at Michelle and Nate's house.) I thought I would put up pictures of what my living quarters look like now:

This is my room! There's a closet in the wall off to the left that you can't see. I'm SOOOO happy that I got the bottom bunk. I had the top last time, and it was awful. It gets REEEALLY hot and it's always stuffy up there. It's just no fun. Maybe I'll switch with my roommate (Emma) next semester if she hates it as much as I did. Also, there's a TON of storage space underneath my bed that now has 3 giant suitcases and 2 banana boxes under it.

This is my closet! It's full of extremely cute clothes that I got right before I left! I probably haven't worn half of the clothes in there. I'm really excited for school to start so that I can model them for the world. :)

This is the hall. My room is at the very end on the left. There's a bathroom kind of in the middle on \the right side, and a single room for Delaney on the end right. Plus, there's 2 closets in it.

This is my bathroom. I'm currently missing a shower curtain, but they give them to you for free at the Wyview  housing office, which is just grand! And yes, that is a potty plunger in the top picture. It's in the trash can right now, because I haven't moved it yet.

The living room! The door is right beside the long couch. I really like the big window!

The kitchen! It's really nice. The microwave has the power of an atomic bomb. It is sooo powerful.

This is the window in front of those chairs in the other picture. I really like the tree! But the kitchen gets REALLY hot when the sun sets right in front of it. It's pretty though.

And this is the door. It's pink.

That's my new apartment! Right now it's a little lonely because I'm the only one in my whole building that's here. But I'm super stoked to meet both of my roommates and to start band camp ON MONDAY and to browse the bookstore (hopefully without having to take a potty break) and walk around campus and find my classes and make stellar grades and have a GINORMOUS group of totally rad friends. This year is going to be so awesome. So, so awesome. I'm looking forward to EVERYTHING, pretty much. Except for the testing center. But I'm even kind of excited about that because I'm going to make such incredible grades.

Oh my goodness guys! It just hit me that I haven't told some of you my plans for the rest of my life, as far as school goes. I'm majoring in biology, and I'm going to get my bachelor's degree here at BYU. THEN, I'm hopefully going to transfer to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and get my masters in Physical Therapy. And then I'll be a physical therapist and marry a nice man with a Southern accent and live on like a billion acres of land and have a giant cherry orchard. Except I don't know if cherries grow in GA, so that part is subject to change.

Anyway, I'm really excited. I have no doubt at all that this semester is going to be infinitely better than the last! I think that I've changed quite a bit since last January, and now I'm more ready for a big, serious university like this.

It feels REALLY good outside so I'm going for a walk around my block now. Call me! Oh, also, next I'll post my schedule for this semester. Stay tuned! Love you all!!!!!

Love,
Bri

PS- I went to the creamery today to get some milk, and both boys were blonde with blue eyes. Surprise, surprise.

The aforementioned snow

                well that's flattering...

Life as I know it.

I love BYU. I'm really glad I decided to come here, and really sad that I didn't decide to until this semester. There are like zero ronchy people out here! It's really crazy! And great! And boys don't have long nasty hair or saggy pants either! However, they all look the same. (Blonde spiky hair, blue eyes, and 5 feet tall.) Everyone that is, except Tim. (If you don't already know who that is, I'm not going to tell you. haha)
A list of things I've done that make me very sociable:
1. Running with Jessica and Echo. Both from Hawaii, these girls are EXTREMELY fabulous and hilarious. Echo did wrestling her senior year of high school. Jessica is very very flexible. She's the first friend I made out here.
2. Going to the mall with Jessica and Dianne. I think Dianne is from Hawaii too. Shes one of the most fashionable people I've ever met and so it was extremely intimidating going shopping with her, even though none of us bought anything. She likes sushi. And she has an extremely attractive boyfriend.
3. Playing Just Dance 3 on the Wii with Whitney (my roommate) Paige (from the athens stake!) and Paige's roomie Amanda until 2 or 3 in the morning. The first sociable thing I did actually. SO MUCH FUNNNNNN.
4. Going to The Pizza Pie Cafe with Whitney, Paige, and their friend (and now my friend) Lindsay. I feel like Lindsay and I are a lot alike. AKA she's flippin amazing. She thinks I talk like Cari (the weirdo babysitter in the Incredibles) but SHE is definitely the Cari-voiced one. She can do like 12 man push ups. And she's really funny when she's tired. :)
5. Sometime this week Whitney, Augusta (my other roomie) and I are going to some yogurt place whitney really likes. I'm excited to get to know Augusta better!!! She's really nice, but we don't really know each other that well at all... I know she's been a convert for almost 3 years, her hair used to be realllllly long, and she has a boyfriend named spencer. And she's taking ice skating as one of her classes. but that's about it.

guys it's snowing outside right at this very instant. again. there's already like 3 inches of snow on the ground that's been there since saturday night. uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug. BUT im pretty sure this means that me and whitney and paige are all going to go sledding, plus maybe some other people.

6. I go over to beck and ben's house like 8 days a week (ha. now that song is stuck in your head. :D mwahahahah) they are awesome. And pretty much everytime I go we all watch a movie because Ben wants to make me a cultured swine instead of an uncultured swine. My favorite one we've watched so far is probably... Oceans 11? Or maybe the proposal.

I think I'm gaining weight, despite walking almost a full mile to campus everyday. and despite the mile walk back from campus every day. And despite walking AROUND the gargantuan campus everyday, to get from class to class. AND despite the huge hill at the end of my walk every day. I just don't get it.
food: (this section is mostly for mom :D) I'm great in that area. I eat lots of soup and hamburger helper. And sandwiches, both turkey (with lettuce and mustard and cheese on whole wheat bread) and peanut butter. MILK ONLY COSTS 1.91 AT THE CREAMERY! It's great. I also eat ice cream, but only after supper.

I'm going to go play in the snow now. Heres some pictures of stuff here, taken at random places:
That picture^^^^^^^^^^^ makes me look like a smart college girl doing homework. Which I was definitely doing at the time.
 "That's a good picture I wanna copy of that."^
                                                         Awwwwwwww. They're cute.

                                                         We're cute too.
And Trev dog is cute too.
I can't think of an ending. So... yeah. awkward

First days of Utah

Hullo! As you all know, I'm in Utah now!!! My first four days were spent with Michelle and Nate, who are very fantastic hosts. We partied it up! On New Years Eve, Nate's fam came over (his dad, mam, and sister Abbey) and we ate takeout Chinese ("which I never actually did before but kind of enjoyed") and played on the Waite's new Wii. It was especially fun to watch Grandpa play wipeout (it's just like the show). He was pretty terrible at it but it was HILARIOUS! We were ALL laughing our heads off and I almost wet my pants. Then they left and we started the movie Rango. Shell got tired and went to bed, and me and Nate stayed down to finish it. I fell asleep at 11:30 though, and Nate finished it all by his lonesome.
To make up for me and Shells lack of party attitude on NYE, New Years DAY was the real partay. After church we went over to Nate's bro Aaron's house to help Grandma watch the children (5 of them, the 6th was born that day)! We left and came home to play Ticket to Ride and Shell got really grumpy because she lost reeeeeeeally badly plus she was gassy. We drank Martenelli's (which we called "bubbly") out of wine glasses and I thought it was really gross so I only drank like 2 sips. Plus, I was kind of gassy too and I didn't want to become any bubblier than I already was. (Yeah, yeah, I know i told you guys I wasn't gassy. I lied.)
And, somewhere in there we saw temple square with all of it's lights. IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! And cold.
pictures!

We're so refined. And bubbly.

Addison at breakfast. This is one awesome kid. Oh, later we went to J Dawgs where they have massive hot dogs and Nate was trying to get him to take another bite, and he screamed, "BUT THEY TASTE LIKE TRASH!!!" Then, once he noticed me laughing my head off he screamed, "THEY TASTE LIKE GARBAGE!!!" hahahahahahaha

Bryn. She is also awesome, and has fabulous pink light-up princess cowgirl boots.

DATES!!!!!

This is probably going to seem really boring to all of you... I just want to remember it. No pressure to read the whole thing.

Howdy folks. Sorry it's been a while since I last blogged, things have been super duper crazy around here lately. I just started packing stuff recently, and it seems like I haven't been home very much as of late. Mostly due to the fact that I've gone on 2 dates in the past week! Plus it was Spencer Giddens bday on the 23, and I was at his house pretty much all day playing basketball and riding scooters and playing on the Wii with a bunch of our church friends.
My date. Dates actually. One official and one... not so official. With Colin Henderson. First, a few friends of his went over to his house to party it up, and while we were both hiding in the woods during a rousing game of Sheep and Wolf (yes i know, my friends are awesome :D) he asked me to double with him. I said yes of course, because I've kinda had a slight crush on this boy since I was like 10 years old. We went to Crackerbarrel with 2 of our friends and then watched a movie. It was pretty fun, but the people we doubled with were kind of lame- one didn't eat anything at the restaurant and the other was pretty much asleep the whole time. The car ride home was the best part because they weren't there and Colin is one of the funniest people I've ever met. :)
Date number 2: Not really an official date, but definitely more fun than the first. Colin invited me to his house to go shootin'. It was so much fun!!! We shot 3 different kinds of guns. I don't remember what any of them were called, though. We played that game where someone throws the little skeet things and we had to shoot them. I ACTUALLY SHOT ONE!!! It was pretty far away, and I just pulled the trigger and hoped for the best. (Pretty much what I did every time.) That sucker shattered into a billion pieces. After that me and Colin walked around on the property with the smallest gun looking for squirrels, but we couldn't find any because the best time to find squirrels is in the morning. Then he had a brilliant idea: to go mountain biking all over his dirt bike trails. It sounded fun and pretty easy so I said ok. WORST IDEA EVER. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't fallen off my bike so much. I completely wiped out, as in, was laying on my side on the ground, a total of 5 times. It was so embarrassing, because he kind of tripped like maybe once. The most embarrassing fall was when I drove into an invisible hole, fell sideways off my bike, and hit the bottom of my left ribs on a REALLY hard stump, or root. It knocked the wind right out of me, and when he came to ask me if I was okay, all I could do was make that weird robot groaning sound that you make when you lose your wind. And he was trying really hard not to laugh. He succeded for the most part.
After that, we went inside and decided to go play Frisbee Golf at Fort Yargo. He won by one point. We were both pretty bad, but it was super fun, and we only broke one frisbee. :)
THEN we went back to his house and he taught me how to play Halo. That is a fun game, and it really wasn't that hard either.
And that's all. Now that I think about it, I can't believe Colin still likes me after all that making a fool of myself. Today he invited me to come play paintball with his family, but I couldn't go because I was packing. :/ BUT HE JUST CALLED AND ASKED IF I WANTED TO COME AND PLAY GAMES AT HIS HOUSE!!! Seriously, like 5 minutes ago. :D I like that kid.

Sorry this ended up being so long...
