Fighting goose

So a lot of you have been asking what the heck a fighting goose is. It's gainesville's mascot. And it started off as a joke like 10 years ago or something because there were a lot of geese on campus. And now it's official. I'm pretty sure there's not a species of goose that is called "fighting goose", we just put fighting in front of it to sound menacing. Although, all it does is make us sound like a bunch of dweebs.

There it is. Yeah, that goose has muscles. And a backpack...

Hi.

Last night I was at work for a long long looooooong time. I got off a little after 11:30. i.was.pooped. To say the least. Plus, the dawgs lost so I was already feeling slightly depressed. :(
This morning was stake conference. Which meant we had to wake up atl ike 2 in the morning, so we could get there 3 hours early and somehow still end up in the back with me on a hard chair. (true story. except the 3 hours part... but we were extremely early.)
SOOOOOO the point of this whole story is: I felt like this this morning:

yup. I felt like this blobfish.

BYU IDAHO

OHMYGOODNESSBAAAAAAAAAHOHMYGOODNESSGRACIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Story:
One day a girl named Brianna Elise Mingledorff applied to both BYU and BYUI. She finally finished the application on september 9, at about 4:30 pm. Hooray! Carefully she read through the page with the normal acceptance dates; BYUI would accept her within 6 weeks of recieving her application,. BYU would let her know sometime around the end of October. She watched a movie with her parents to celebrate and then went to sleep.
The next morning, she woke up and checked her email. She saw an email from BYUI admissions. She quickly opened it, only to see the following words...

Dear Brianna:

Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to Brigham Young University-Idaho. Rich blessings and life-changing opportunities await you here.

Below are the next steps in your Admission process:

*steps*..............

Once again, congratulations on your acceptance to BYU-Idaho! We look forward to having you on our campus and feel that you will enrich the University.

Sincerely,

Admissions Committee
Brigham Young University-Idaho Admissions Office

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!! :DDDDDD

I am sooooooooooo stoked.
Like I said, I won't hear from BYU until around the end of October, but until then... that's pretty darn exciting! I won't have to be a fighting goose for another semester!!!!!!!!!

love you guys.

THE FIRST POST

I have a blog because I am in college and I want to be able to document all of my many adventures publicly, so certain sisters don't complain about not knowing anything that goes on in my life. ;)
I am currently attending Gainesville State College. Yep, that's right, I'm a Fighting Goose. hooray (NOT). BUT I did apply to go to BYU starting January, so hopefully I'll be able to shed my goose feathers and be a cougar instead. Gainesville does NOT have a marching band, but there is a Symphonic Band that I am part of. Third chair trumpet. Woot!
Ummmmmm as of yet I have not taken ANY pics at all of the glorious Gainesville campus, but that will have to change because I want to post them on here so I'll have them forever. Plus all of you guys will be able to see them too.
I still work at Ingles. I've been putting in more hours there because I only have school Mon and Wed.
Also, I decided just a few minutes ago that I'm going to start running and maybe eventually do a 5K. It's gonna be great now that I actually have something to do!!! :)
Welp, (as Megan would say) that's about it this time around... I'll be sure to post pics soon!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, PS- I definitely took that pic at the top. It's in Savannah. That's all. :D
