Band Camp is OVER!!! Plus, random thoughts.

I have very mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it was so fun! There are so many awesome people in my section! I love them so much! (Especially Jamie- the RM I stand next to during like all of pregame. He went to Argentina on his mission. And he's single. And he added me on Facebook. To quote the famous Trace Adkins: "Oowee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma!" That's what I feel like. In other words, it's love. BAHAHA.) And all of them are really nice and awesome. Also, I'm pretty sure I've lost like 50 pounds this week, which is just groovy.
But on the other hand, I was so tired yesterday! And my tan lines are SOOOO bad. I'll have to take a picture today before they go away. Also, my arms are getting realllllllly strong from holding up my trumpet for  forever. You might think this is a good thing, but my arms are pretty much man arms now. With tan lines on them. So this is not a good thing.
So yeah. Mixed emotions about it being over. but we still have 3 practices a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) for like 2 hours each or something. And that makes me happy. :)

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Our first football game is on Thursday. That's right. This Thursday. AND WE'RE GOING TO BE ON TV! ESPN, baby. We will be the first nationally televised game of the entire football season! I'm going to be on TV! It's especially awesome because I'm at the front for like almost all of everything. How spectacular.

ALSO IMPORTANT: If we win 6 games this season, we're all going to San Diego for the Poinsetta Bowl on Ryan's birthday! (12/20, for those of you who can't remember.) I'm sad that it's on Ryan's bday, but SO happy that I will be able to be home for Christmas. And to go to San Diego!

Random things that I want you all to know, in no particular order:
My section leader is Clifton Hargus; we call him Clif. He was in the Marines for 15 years and he's 37 with 3 kids. And he kind of scares me. He's been playing for longer than I've been alive, so he's SUUUUPER good. He can play for SOOO long and SOOO high and SOOOOO stinkin loud! If I were him, I think I would die from over-awesomeness. This is his first year as section leader, and I think he's pretty good about knowing what he's doing, but he's not very personal/cuddly/a get-to-know-you-on-a-personal-level kind of guy. I think he's been trying though. I think he thinks that I'm more fragile than everybody else or something... because when I'm a quarter step out of the line, he just tells me. With everyone else, he's like, "LOOK AT THIS LINE! YOU ARE A MILE AWAY FROM THE FORM, GO CHOKE YOURSELF!" He says go choke yourself a lot. Which is dogey of him. But yeah. With me, he's just like, Brianna, go forward just a skosh. And when I get it right, he tells me good job. I guess I'm just the favorite.

There's a guy in the baritone section that talks just like Kevin from The Office. His  name is Brian though.

Some people in life are just extremely funny to me. Even when they're not saying anything funny. And there's TWO of them in the trumpet section. Aaron Vaughn and Devon something. When they're just having a normal conversation with me, I always just start laughing reeeeally hard and I can't stop. It's so embarrassing. Especially with Aaron. Because Devin almost always starts laughing just as hard as me, and so we just laugh at nothing together. But Aaron is just kind of like... not laughing. And it's awkward and embarrassing and makes me feel like a terrible person.

The dress I'm wearing right now is a maternity dress. But you can't even tell, so it's okay.

We got our uniforms yesterday! I'm pretty sure my pants are too big, but I'd much rather have too big than too small. So I guess it's okay.

There's only like 5 girls in the entire trumpet section (32 trumpets). It's really weird. I'm used to it being like half and half. But all of us are real good friends now. Their names are: Jessica, Alynne, Julie, Melissa... and I think that's it. It's so weird.

Church doesn't start until 12:20, and it's right next to my house!!!!!!!!! I am SO happy about that.

Whenever I run for more than 30 second straight up here, my lungs dry out and I start coughing a lot. Sigh. It's kind of really annoying. But at least I don't have nosebleeds everyday anymore. But I'm thirsty ALL the time.

Emma is my roommate. She's a molecular biology major, for the moment. She says she's probably going to take chemistry and hate it and change it though. :) She had a legitimately crazy chem teacher in high school. She's super good at talking and telling stories and she has the most beautiful skin tone in the universe. It looks like Ms. Neufeldt's skin (my AP Gov and Econ teacher) and makes me really jealous. I really like her though. She's great friend material.

Delaney:

She's a dancer. She's trying out for the folk dance team on Wednesday. She likes to talk a lot. And she collects shiny things she finds on the ground. Her favorite color is yellow, and she's super funny. But she never gets tired, so me and Emma always have to kick her out of our room so we can sleep. :) I really like her too though.

Emma and I:
ps- i don't actually weigh 100000000 lbs, as this picture would suggest. it's just kind of unflattering.

This is a picture of all of us before we left for church today. We's cutie pies.

AND... my neck tan line. Thank you band camp.

It's time for choir practice. And then a band fireside. And then ward prayer. So I've got to go. Love you all!!!!!

My apartment!!!

Hello everyone! I've made it to Provo safely, and managed to move all of my stuff in! (Except for my dishes... I just realized about an hour ago that they're all at Michelle and Nate's house.) I thought I would put up pictures of what my living quarters look like now:

This is my room! There's a closet in the wall off to the left that you can't see. I'm SOOOO happy that I got the bottom bunk. I had the top last time, and it was awful. It gets REEEALLY hot and it's always stuffy up there. It's just no fun. Maybe I'll switch with my roommate (Emma) next semester if she hates it as much as I did. Also, there's a TON of storage space underneath my bed that now has 3 giant suitcases and 2 banana boxes under it.

This is my closet! It's full of extremely cute clothes that I got right before I left! I probably haven't worn half of the clothes in there. I'm really excited for school to start so that I can model them for the world. :)

This is the hall. My room is at the very end on the left. There's a bathroom kind of in the middle on \the right side, and a single room for Delaney on the end right. Plus, there's 2 closets in it.

This is my bathroom. I'm currently missing a shower curtain, but they give them to you for free at the Wyview  housing office, which is just grand! And yes, that is a potty plunger in the top picture. It's in the trash can right now, because I haven't moved it yet.

The living room! The door is right beside the long couch. I really like the big window!

The kitchen! It's really nice. The microwave has the power of an atomic bomb. It is sooo powerful.

This is the window in front of those chairs in the other picture. I really like the tree! But the kitchen gets REALLY hot when the sun sets right in front of it. It's pretty though.

And this is the door. It's pink.

That's my new apartment! Right now it's a little lonely because I'm the only one in my whole building that's here. But I'm super stoked to meet both of my roommates and to start band camp ON MONDAY and to browse the bookstore (hopefully without having to take a potty break) and walk around campus and find my classes and make stellar grades and have a GINORMOUS group of totally rad friends. This year is going to be so awesome. So, so awesome. I'm looking forward to EVERYTHING, pretty much. Except for the testing center. But I'm even kind of excited about that because I'm going to make such incredible grades.

Oh my goodness guys! It just hit me that I haven't told some of you my plans for the rest of my life, as far as school goes. I'm majoring in biology, and I'm going to get my bachelor's degree here at BYU. THEN, I'm hopefully going to transfer to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and get my masters in Physical Therapy. And then I'll be a physical therapist and marry a nice man with a Southern accent and live on like a billion acres of land and have a giant cherry orchard. Except I don't know if cherries grow in GA, so that part is subject to change.

Anyway, I'm really excited. I have no doubt at all that this semester is going to be infinitely better than the last! I think that I've changed quite a bit since last January, and now I'm more ready for a big, serious university like this.

It feels REALLY good outside so I'm going for a walk around my block now. Call me! Oh, also, next I'll post my schedule for this semester. Stay tuned! Love you all!!!!!

Love,
Bri

PS- I went to the creamery today to get some milk, and both boys were blonde with blue eyes. Surprise, surprise.
